Marketplace terms, payment custody & pre-launch checklist

Sanduku is a technology marketplace that connects shippers and travellers. We do not transport goods ourselves. This page explains our legal role, how money moves, and what every user must do before a shipment can begin.

We are a marketplace, not a carrier or customs broker

Sanduku operates an online platform that lets people who need goods shipped ("shippers") find travellers with spare luggage space ("travellers"). Sanduku does not take possession of goods as a common carrier, freight forwarder, or customs broker.

The traveller is an independent third party, not an employee or agent of Sanduku. The shipper and traveller enter into a direct arrangement facilitated by Sanduku's tools, payment processing, and identity verification.

  • Sanduku does not issue bills of lading or airway bills.
  • Sanduku does not guarantee delivery times or customs clearance.
  • Sanduku does not provide legal or customs advice; users should consult local authorities for formal declarations.
  • All goods must be dropped off and collected at Sanduku offices or partner counters, never at private residences.
What Sanduku does provide
  • Identity verification for travellers (SSN last-4 + ID document)
  • A matching interface for trips and shipping requests
  • Office-to-office drop-off and collection points
  • A tracking number and status timeline
  • Payment collection and traveller payout after delivery confirmation
  • Weight and value caps to reduce customs risk
